About our Fees, Dues, and Costs

Membership fees are an important source of funding for the European Law Students' Association at IE, and they help to cover the costs of events and activities that are offered to members. ELSA charges an annual fee of 50 euros in order to help cover these costs.

The purpose of membership fees is to ensure that ELSA has the resources it needs to provide valuable learning and networking opportunities for its members. These fees help to fund activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops, and social events, as well as the administrative costs of running the organization.

Total 2024 New Member Registration Cost: EUR 50.00

Total Fall 2024 Member Renewal Cost: EUR 40.00 (Full Year)

By charging a registration fee and a semesterly fee, ELSA is able to ensure that it has the resources it needs to operate effectively and offer a range of valuable benefits to its members. These fees also help to ensure that ELSA is able to provide these benefits to as many members as possible, by helping to cover the costs of events and activities.

By paying these fees, members can support the work of ELSA and take advantage of the many learning and networking opportunities that are offered to them.

If you are having trouble paying these costs, reach out to the Financial Aid Supervisor as soon as possible.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Welcome to the Office of Financial Aid at the IE Law School Chapter of the European Law Students' Association. At ELSA IE, we understand that the cost of membership can be a barrier for some students, and we are committed to providing financial assistance to those who need it.

Financial Aid is separate from scholarships and is awarded based on financial need. Finances should never be a barrier to joining our program, so we are committed to helping you excel regardless of your financial situation. Please reach out to Cecilia Nakao to set up a financial aid meeting.

For those seeking scholarships, which are awarded on a Merit Basis, we are proud to offer several scholarship options. These scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to members who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement.

The President's Scholarship is a full scholarship with distinction that waives all membership fees for the recipient. The Secretary's Scholarship is also a full scholarship that waives all membership fees for the recipient. Applications for these scholarships will be included in your acceptance letter.

The Executive's List Scholarship is a partial scholarship that waives the semesterly membership fee for the recipient and is available to members who have a GPA of 9.2 or higher. If you wish to activate this scholarship, please reach out to the treasurer before you pay your membership fees. Refunds will not be issued.

Our financial aid options are designed to ensure that enrollment in ELSA is accessible to all members, regardless of their financial circumstances. If you have any questions about our scholarship options, or if you would like to apply for financial aid, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your interest in the Office of Financial Aid at the IE Law School Chapter of the European Law Students' Association. We are here to support you, and to help make your ELSA experience as accessible and affordable as possible.

Commitment to Serving those Impacted by Global Conflicts

At the IE Law School Chapter of the European Law Students' Association, we are committed to serving all members of our community, including those who have been directly impacted by the war in Ukraine or the Israel-Palestine Conflict. Our General Financial Aid scholarship is available on a case-by-case basis to any member who is or has been impacted by these instances.

We understand that the war has caused immense hardship and suffering for many people, and we believe that it is our duty to support those who have been affected. Whether it's through providing financial assistance or offering resources and support to help members overcome the challenges they are facing, we are committed to doing everything we can to help.

We stand in solidarity with all those who have been affected by active global conflicts, and we will continue to work tirelessly to support them in any way we can. If you or someone you know has been impacted by international war and would like to learn more about our financial aid options or other resources available to you, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
